New Zealand , affectionately known as Aotearoa, which is translated into English as The Land of the Long White Cloud is the new age land of opportunity. It is located in the south-eastern Pacific ring. Its total land area is 270,000 square kilometres (104,000 square miles), which means it could fit into Australia 28 times and into the United States around 34 times. In comparison to the United Kingdom it is slightly larger and has more acres of land per human (footprint) than most westernised countries. For example the average footprint (sq. meter per person) in America is 34m:1, in the United Kingdom it is 4m:1, in Japan it's 2m:1 and in New Zealand it is 65m:1
The chart below demonstrates the physical size of New Zealand in comparison to the United Kingdom and Japan.

New Zealand is a 3½-hour flight from Eastern Australia ( Sydney) and around a 10-hour flight from most places on the Pacific rim, such as Singapore, Hong Kong or Tokyo. Flying time from Los Angeles on the west coast of the USA to Auckland takes just under 13 hours and around double that between London and Auckland (approximately 26 hours with a minimum of 1 stop over). Well over three-quarters of New Zealand’s population live in the North Island and a significant percentage of those live near the largest city, Auckland...
